At approximately 1:42 p.m., Zone 4 officers responded to an initial 911 call reporting a person shot near the 3200 block of Cushman Circle SW. Upon arrival, officers determined that a female acquaintance had placed John into her private vehicle to transport him to a nearby medical facility. Approximately 14 minutes later, at 1:56 p.m., Zone 3 officers and Atlanta Fire Rescue emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the 1100 block of Michael Langford Drive SW near Pryor Road and a local Chevron gas station, where the vehicle had stopped. Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but John succumbed to an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
