According to preliminary reports from local law enforcement, Wells was traveling northbound on Numidia Drive as part of a group ride with several fellow motorcyclists. As the group proceeded along the corridor, a passenger vehicle pulled onto Numidia Drive from Kulp Road, entering the path of Wells' motorcycle.

The two vehicles collided on the roadway. Emergency medical services and law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene shortly after the crash was reported to county dispatchers.

First Responder and Coroner Findings
Despite wearing a helmet, Wells sustained catastrophic injuries from the impact. The Columbia County coroner arrived on scene shortly thereafter and pronounced Wells deceased.

No other severe injuries among the group of riders were immediately reported by responding crews.
