JOLIET, Illinois — Law enforcement detectives and coroner officials in Will County are conducting a death investigation into the passing of 40-year-old Antonio Rosas-Delgado, who was found unresponsive in his home hours after being involved in a pedestrian traffic collision. As reported by regional news outlets, including the The Herald-News, the incident originated shortly after 6:45 a.m. near Cass Street in Joliet.

Pedestrian Impact and Timeline of Events According to preliminary investigation bulletins from the Joliet Police Department, Mr. Rosas-Delgado was walking toward Cass Street on Wednesday morning when he was struck by a motor vehicle. Following the impact, he declined immediate emergency medical assistance at the scene. The involved driver subsequently transported Mr. Rosas-Delgado back to his apartment located on Jerome Avenue. Police reports indicate that Mr. Rosas-Delgado later left his residence briefly to visit a nearby supermarket before returning to his apartment.

Unresponsive Discovery and Ongoing Investigation Later that evening, acquaintances discovered Mr. Rosas-Delgado unresponsive inside his Jerome Avenue home, exhibiting a severe, significant head injury.
