SOUTH AUSTIN, Texas — A 24-year-old Austin resident, Dmario Antonie Jones, died early Wednesday morning, September 23, 2026, following a shooting incident in a South Austin residential neighborhood. According to the Austin Police Department (APD), patrol officers responded to a residential emergency call in the 200 block of Virtus Bend at approximately 3:51 a.m. following a report of an active burglary in progress.
