Destinie S. Daniels Identified After Body Is Found in Downtown Quincy Apartment

Destinie S. Daniels, 24, has been identified as the woman found dead inside an apartment in downtown Quincy, Illinois. The Adams County Coroner's Office released her identity on September 25, 2026, as authorities continued investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. 
According to local news outlet WGEM, Quincy police officers responded to a wellness check at the former downtown post office building at 200 North Eighth Street on Thursday evening, September 24. Officers arrived at approximately 9 p.m. and discovered a body inside one of the apartments. 
The discovery prompted an investigation involving the Quincy Police Department, its crime scene unit, and the Adams County Coroner's Office.
Identification and Forensic Examination
Adams County Coroner Scott Graham said preliminary findings, along with information provided by family members and witnesses, helped investigators identify Daniels.
According to WGEM, the condition of the body led the coroner's office to obtain dental records. Officials were awaiting an examination by a forensic odontologist as part of the identification process. 
Cause of Death Remains Undetermined
