‘House of the Dragon’ Star Fabien Frankel Joins Short Film ‘Love Unlimited’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Fabien Frankel, currently seen on screens as the dashing, honor-obsessed knight Ser Criston Cole in “House of the Dragon,” is ready to take on a very different role.

The British actor is set to star in “Love Unlimited,” the debut short drama from actor Olivier Huband (“A Discovery of Witches,” “Becoming Elizabeth”). Frankel will also serve as exec producer under his MarcelMonique Pictures banner, the company he runs with his brother Max Mark Frankel. Max Mark Frankel, who produced last year’s comedy feature “Our Hero, Balthasar,” will serve as lead producer on the project.

Written and directed by Huband, who also stars, “Love Unlimited” is described as a “small, sincere window into the profound, complex relationship between two old friends — Max (Frankel) and Gabriel (Huband) — as they unknowingly spend a final four days together in Max’s house in the South of France. The film exists in the world of the unspoken, exploring themes of male intimacy, grief and, as the title suggests, the incandescent, enduring power of love.”

“Olivier sent me this script he had written about two best friends who spent their final summer together and we sat in my house and read it together and I found it immensely moving,” said Fabien Frankel, who as well as “House of Dragon” has also starred in “Task” and “The Serpent.” “It’s a subject incredibly close to my brother and I’s heart and we’re proud to get to be a part of it. It’s the first time I’ve acted in something I’ve produced so there are always some nerves that come with that, but I trust Olivier and my brother enough to guide us somewhere really special.”

Huband produces with his sister Zara Huband under his Boneyard Films banner. Konstantin Mazov (“Coup de Grâce,” “Rokeby Venus”) has boarded the project as director of photography. Meanwhile, MarcelMonique Pictures have recruited the help of French production company All In Films, founded by Thomas Laget and Julien Floutard, to help bring the project to life.

Production on “Love Unlimited” is slated to start in September in the Pyrenees.
