Community Impact, Career, and Life Mrs. Maloy was born on July 15, 1983, to Rick and Vicki Bates. As the founder and operator of Charity’s Hair Studio in Franklin, she served as a stylist, confidante, and trusted friend to countless clients across the region. Known for her creative talents and vibrant personality, she was actively involved in local youth athletics, supporting her daughters' sports activities following her own years on the ballfield.
Surviving Family and Funeral Arrangements Mrs. Maloy is survived by her husband, Marcus Maloy; her three daughters, Nevaeh Tran, Meyaeh Tran, and Layla Maloy; her parents, Rick and Vicki Bates; her maternal grandmother, Marilyn Bingham; her sisters, Nichole Bates (Justin) and Natasha Bates (Jerry); as well as extended nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family members.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin, with Pastor Luke Bateman officiating. Public visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Committal and burial will follow at Rush Cemetery. Pallbearers serving the family include Myles Queen, Gabe Bingham, Matt Bingham, Jacob Bingham, Zac Dover, Joe Bichard, Justin Fuller, and Noah Jones.
