SAN DIEGO, California — A fatal traffic collision claimed the life of 14-year-old Owen Harris, an eighth-grade student at Pacific Beach Middle School, on Saturday night, September 12, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, Harris was riding his e-bike northbound on Olney Street at approximately 9:20 p.m. when he entered the intersection at Balboa Avenue against a red traffic signal. A vehicle traveling westbound on Balboa Avenue collided with the e-bike. Emergency responders provided medical intervention at the scene before transporting Harris to a local medical center, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
