Nine-year-old Mila Jenayla Hernandez is receiving critical care at a hospital following a prolonged, multi-week medical crisis stemming from severe health complications. Mila, who lives with cerebral palsy and depends on a tracheostomy, mechanical ventilation, and a G-tube for nutrition, was admitted after contracting a tracheostomy-related Pseudomonas infection that progressed into severe pneumonia. During her extended stay, she experienced severe seizure activity, critically low oxygen saturation levels, and four separate cardiac arrest events requiring emergency CPR.
Official Status and Family Guidance
Mila remains in an exceptionally critical stage of illness. Due to the progression of her condition and limited remaining treatment options, her family, in consultation with attending medical staff, agreed to a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order. Her grandparents have maintained a constant bedside vigil since her admission in August 2026.

To assist the household as her primary caregivers take extended leaves of absence from work to remain at the hospital, a community fundraising campaign was initiated by family representative Griselda Moreno.
