Bridgeport Community Mourns Passing of 41-Year-Old Respiratory Therapist Dylan Lewis

BRIDGEPORT, West Virginia — The community of Bridgeport is mourning the passing of Dylan Lewis, a devoted husband, father, and healthcare professional who passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the age of 41. Born in Morgantown on August 11, 1985, Dylan was the son of Charles Lewis and Brenda (Balog) Magill, and the stepson of Dan Magill.

After graduating from Carmichaels High School in 2003, he earned his degree from Fairmont State University in 2014. Dylan dedicated the last nine years of his career to serving military veterans as a respiratory therapist at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. Beyond his professional dedication, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, skiing, playing recreational basketball, and performing as a musician with local bands.

Official Status and Memorial Service Schedule

Funeral and visitation arrangements have been established in partnership with Burnside Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation hours on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Burnside Funeral Home, located at 607 S. Virginia Avenue in Bridgeport. Following the public visitation, a private interment service will be conducted for immediate family members.

Dylan is survived by his wife, Brandi (McBee) Lewis; his two children, Nola and Nico; his sister Bernadette Pittman (Chris); his in-laws Justin McBee (Madison) and Tracie Wentz (Kraig); his nieces Cierra Hall and Ensley McBee; as well as his parents, extended family, and close friends.
