Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Orangeburg County

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, South Carolina — A single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of driver Frank Rivers in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. Emergency responders and South Carolina Highway Patrol units were dispatched at approximately 1:39 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, to the intersection of Five Chop Road and Old No. 6 Highway.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, Rivers was operating a GMC Sierra pickup truck northbound on Five Chop Road. As the vehicle traveled through the intersection, it left the roadway and struck an embankment. Rivers was the sole occupant inside the pickup truck at the time of the impact. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officials.
