LA PORTE COUNTY, Indiana — A two-vehicle collision on Fail Road claimed the life of 77-year-old Lana L. Pratt of Warsaw, Indiana, on Saturday afternoon, September 26, 2026.
La Porte County Sheriff’s Office deputies, La Porte County EMS, and the Kankakee Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 2900 north block of Fail Road at approximately 12:15 p.m. following emergency calls reporting a head-on crash. According to preliminary findings by investigating deputies, a black 2014 Toyota operated by 38-year-old Aaron D. Keehn of La Porte was traveling northbound when the vehicle crossed left of center. The Toyota collided with a southbound silver 2024 Kia driven by 71-year-old John W. Pratt, also of Warsaw.
Lana L. Pratt, who was riding as a passenger in the Kia, sustained critical injuries and was transported by EMS to an area hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased. Both drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries; John W. Pratt and Aaron D. Keehn were transported to regional hospitals for emergency medical care.
Official Status and Traffic Investigation
The La Porte County Sheriff's Office maintains an active investigation into the crash mechanics and contributing factors. Crash reconstructionists and detectives processed the scene, and routine toxicology testing results remain pending.
