Man arrested over doxxing 2 former associates in failed restaurant business

Hong Kong’s privacy watchdog has arrested a man on suspicion of doxxing a former restaurant owner and a business consultant following a financial dispute over unpaid bills.

The PCPD’s investigation revealed that the suspect became acquainted with the male victim, a restaurant operator at the time, through the female victim’s consultancy in March 2025.

The suspect subsequently supplied frozen meat to the restaurant between March and May that same year.

A monetary dispute later arose between the suspect and the operator following a payment default, and the two parties were unable to reach an agreement.

A year after the business collapsed, a post surfaced on a social media platform via a personal account accusing the male victim of defaulting on his debts and appealing to internet users to track him down.
