Paradise Resident Ethan Dickerson Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Northwest Russell County

PARADISE, Kansas — A severe two-vehicle collision in rural northwest Russell County claimed the life of Paradise resident Ethan Dickerson on Monday morning, September 28, 2026.

At approximately 9:21 a.m., Russell County Communications received reports of a multi-vehicle crash on 180th Street, roughly one mile south of Fairview Road. Emergency personnel from the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Russell County EMS, Russell Fire Department, and Russell County Fire District 3 rushed to the scene.

First responders located a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup, driven northbound by Dickerson, and a southbound 2012 Peterbilt semi-truck operated by Barry Maupin of Lucas, Kansas. Emergency medical crews evaluated both drivers at the site of the impact. Ethan Dickerson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Peterbilt, Barry Maupin, was transported from the crash site via a private vehicle for medical evaluation.
