Official Reporting Confirmed in Fatal Boynton Beach Collision and Vehicle Fire

BOYNTON BEACH, Florida — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has released official details regarding a multi-fatality collision that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 26, 2026. Sheriff’s deputies and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units responded to the crash site on Old Boynton Road near Calliandra Drive, situated near the Boynton Beach Mall, at approximately 1:04 a.m.

Investigators determined that a 2023 Dodge Charger, driven by 28-year-old Rose Lott of Boynton Beach, was traveling westbound when Lott lost control of the vehicle. The Dodge crossed into the eastbound lanes and into the path of an oncoming 2012 BMW X3 driven by a 53-year-old resident of Lake Worth Beach. The resulting head-on impact disabled both vehicles in the eastbound lanes, causing the engine compartment of the Dodge to ignite with occupants trapped inside. Good Samaritans pulled one passenger from the burning vehicle prior to responder arrival, after which firefighters deployed hydraulic tools to extricate the remaining individuals while suppressing the vehicle fire.

Lott and passenger Ryan Moody, 32, of Boynton Beach, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 25-year-old female passenger from the Dodge and the 53-year-old driver of the BMW sustained critical injuries and were transported to Delray Medical Center for emergency care.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is continuing its investigation into the crash mechanics and factors leading to the loss of vehicle control. Official crash documentation indicates that only the driver of the BMW was restrained by a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
