At approximately 3:08 p.m., a passing Dublin Police Services sergeant observed a man suffering from severe injuries in the park’s main parking lot at 6700 Dublin Boulevard. Simultaneously, regional emergency dispatchers received multiple urgent 911 calls reporting active gunfire at the athletic complex. Dublin Police officers and medical response units arrived at the scene, where McKinsey was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel provided immediate medical evaluation, but McKinsey succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Official Status and Homicide Investigation
Dublin Police Services officers, assisted by eyewitness accounts, swiftly located and detained two suspects near the park shortly after the shooting.
Investigators identified the suspects as 77-year-old Shouyong Zhang and 77-year-old Shili Chen, both residents of Dublin and the victim's parents-in-law. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of murder. Authorities confirmed that there are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing threat to public safety.
