Born and raised in Gurnee, Scanlon was a standout student-athlete at Warren Township High School, where he established himself as a talented pitcher. He went on to attend Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, earning a double major for his bachelor's degree while pitching for the Firebirds. During his collegiate athletic career, Scanlon earned widespread acclaim, culminating in being named the 2025 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Year. He recently completed his Master’s degree in Sports Management at Carthage and had launched his professional career, completing his first year working with athletic gear manufacturer Champro.
