BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio — A severe two-vehicle head-on crash on Interstate 480 claimed the life of 26-year-old Kreigh Grapel-Barnette of Akron, Ohio, late Saturday night, September 26, 2026.

Emergency medical crews and troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the eastbound lanes of I-480 near milepost 19 in Brooklyn Heights following reports of a major collision. According to state troopers, Grapel-Barnette was operating a 2007 Toyota Yaris eastbound when her vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, crossed the center median, and collided head-on with an oncoming 2026 Subaru Outlander.
