French Actor and Director Arnaud Denis Remembered

PARIS, France — Arnaud Denis (May 31, 1983 – September 22, 2026) was an acclaimed French stage actor, director, and playwright known for his devotion to classical and modern European theatre. After training under prominent drama figures Jean Périmony and Jean-Laurent Cochet, and attending the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique (CNSAD) in Paris, Denis founded the theatre company Les Compagnons de la Chimère in 2003. Throughout his two-decade career, he directed and performed in acclaimed classical restagings of works by Molière, Oscar Wilde, and Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. His recent stage production of Les Liaisons dangereuses earned widespread critical recognition across France.

In the final years of his life, Denis became a public advocate for patients experiencing chronic post-surgical pain. He established the advocacy organization Victimes Françaises des Prothèses de Hernies (Collectif Arnaud Denis) to raise awareness around medical device surveillance. Although legal authorities noted that a direct scientific causal link had not been formally established in criminal court proceedings, Denis's public statements brought national focus to medical device regulation and long-term post-operative patient care in France.
