A death rumor began circulating online on September 23, 2026, with claims that Amosov had been killed during an attack in Ukraine. The claim quickly gained attention because of Amosov’s connection to Ukraine and his previous involvement in the country’s defense during the early stages of the Russian invasion.
The report was later contradicted by footage and a photograph showing Amosov at American Top Team in Florida. UFC fighter Cody Durden, who trains with Amosov, shared an image from the gym and confirmed that Amosov was there. Further reports showed Amosov continuing his training.
Amosov is a Ukrainian professional MMA fighter and former Bellator welterweight champion. He joined the UFC and recorded victories over Neil Magny and Joel Alvarez after making his UFC debut in December 2025. UFC records list him as an active welterweight fighter.
