Plante passed away on September 27 at the age of 75. Born on May 14, 1951, in Valleyfield, Quebec, he developed into a talented forward known for bringing speed, offensive ability and energy to the ice.
His journey toward professional hockey began well before his NHL debut. Plante established himself as an impressive offensive player during his junior career with the Drummondville Rangers.
During the 1969–70 season, he produced 51 goals and 51 assists for a total of 102 points, helping establish himself as a promising young hockey prospect.
