The Baltimore-area community is mourning the sudden passing of Joe Letke following a mountain biking accident.


Joe was remembered by family and friends as a loving husband to his wife, Kim, and a devoted father to his children, Julia and Jordan. He was also known for his passion for cycling and his strong connections within the local mountain biking community.

News of his death prompted an outpouring of condolences from friends, fellow cyclists, teammates, and others who knew him. His connection to the Baltimore-area cycling community included his association with Joe’s Bike Shop.

The family is also facing the earlier loss of Joe’s daughter, Kelli, who died four years ago. That previous loss has added another difficult chapter for the family as they mourn Joe.

A memorial service celebrating Joe’s life is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, at 2 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Timonium, Maryland. Family members, friends, and members of the community are expected to gather to remember his life and share memories.

A fundraiser has also been established to support Kim and the children with funeral expenses, living costs, and other needs following Joe’s death.
