The Mobile, Alabama, community is mourning Hayden O’Dell, a former St. Paul’s Episcopal School athlete who died at age 22 following a reported car accident in Wisconsin in late September 2026. He had recently completed his college baseball career and was preparing for a new professional chapter.


O’Dell attended St. Paul’s Episcopal School, where he competed in baseball and football. During his senior baseball season, he earned First Team All-State recognition after recording a 7-2 pitching record, a 1.80 earned-run average, and 66 strikeouts.

He continued playing baseball at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Bishop State Community College, and the University of New Orleans before finishing his college career with the University of South Alabama Jaguars in 2026.
