PAW PAW, Mich. — The memory of Easton Michael Johnson continues to be honored by those who knew the young Michigan student and baseball player whose life ended at the age of 12.

Easton died September 15, 2023, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. His obituary, published through the Kalamazoo Gazette, confirmed his death and provided details about the young athlete's family, interests and personality.

Easton was born January 5, 2011, in Kalamazoo to Jimmy and Kelsie (Costello) Johnson.

He attended Paw Paw Middle School and developed strong connections with classmates, teachers, coaches, teammates and other members of the community.

Easton's Passion for Baseball

Funeral and Memorial Services Honored Easton's Life

Visitation for Easton was held September 21, 2023, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services in Kalamazoo.

His funeral service followed on September 22 at Kalamazoo First Assembly of God in Portage, Michigan.

Family and community members were also invited to gather at the Paw Paw Youth Baseball Field, a location closely connected to Easton's passion for the sport.

Instead of flowers, the family requested donations toward a future memorial honoring Easton.
