An armed man was taken into custody following an incident on Battlefield Boulevard South in Chesapeake, Virginia, according to Chesapeake Police.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Battlefield Boulevard South at approximately 4:45 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of an assault. Police determined a woman had been struck in the face by a man following an encounter outside a business.
After the reported assault, officers located the suspect nearby. Police said the man displayed a large knife and refused to surrender, leading authorities to take additional precautions while attempting to resolve the situation.
