MILWAUKEE — A 16-year-old boy lost his life Thursday morning following a fatal shooting on Milwaukee’s North Side.The Milwaukee Police Department responded to the scene near North 40th and West Clarke streets shortly after 9:30 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire in the residential neighborhood.Family members have identified the young victim as 16-year-old Armani Thomas-Cotton.
Suspect Fired From Vehicle Before Fleeing the Area
According to preliminary details provided by police investigators, the teenager was standing near the intersection around 9:33 a.m. when an unknown suspect opened fire from inside a vehicle.Thomas-Cotton suffered fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene despite response efforts from emergency medical personnel.The vehicle fled the scene immediately following the shooting, and no suspect description has been publicly released by authorities as of Thursday afternoon.
