According to official updates released by the Richardson Police Department, emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Arapaho Road and the East Frontage Road of North Central Expressway at approximately 5:45 p.m. Investigators determined that both a passenger vehicle and Smith's motorcycle were traveling northbound when the motorcycle attempted to proceed straight from an inside turn lane, resulting in a collision with the turning vehicle.
