Minnesota State Patrol Investigates Highway 169 Rollover Incident
According to official incident reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, emergency personnel were dispatched at approximately 1:33 p.m. to Highway 169 near Milepost 50 in South Bend Township. Troopers reported that a northbound 1980 Chevrolet C20 pickup truck experienced a mechanical failure when a tire detached, causing the vehicle to lose control and roll into the center median. Responding medical personnel confirmed that St Peter suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, 42-year-old Justin Steven St Peter of Madison Lake, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for medical treatment. State troopers, assisted by the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, Mankato Police Department, South Bend Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance, confirmed that seat belts were not deployed at the time of the crash.
