Beloved Husband, Father, and Public Servant Passes Away at Age 33

CONCORD, Va. — Burlie Windfoot Duvall III, a resident of Concord, Virginia, and dedicated deputy with the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the age of 33. Born in Washington, D.C., on December 17, 1992, he was the cherished son of Burlie W. Duvall, Jr. and Tarnya S. Duvall. His sudden passing has brought profound grief to his immediate family, law enforcement colleagues, and the wider central Virginia community. Remembered for Devotion to Family, Faith, and Public SafetyBurlie was a devoted husband to his wife, Jennifer Duvall, and a loving, proud father to his three children, BJ, Zane, and Adi. In addition to his wife, parents, and children, he is survived by nine siblings—Laura Welk (Tim), Shyetia Duvall, Darion Duvall, Keyanna Duvall, Thomas Duvall, Dyllionn Clarke (Stephanie), Nicholas Frazier, Nathan Frazier, and Melanie Frazier—as well as his mother-in-law Debra Butler, maternal grandparents Shirlene Flowers (Manuel) and Clinton Ceasar (Carolyn), nine nieces and nephews, extended relatives, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James V. Butler, and his paternal grandparents, Burlie W. Duvall, Sr. and Gertrude B. Duvall. Funeral Service and Burial Arrangements AnnouncedA public celebration of life and funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia, with Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Jonathan A. Watson Sr. officiating. Following the service, burial will take place in Maryland.
