GLOUSTER, Ohio — Tyler D. Davis, a vibrant and cherished resident of Glouster, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens at the age of 33. Born on January 24, 1993, in Athens, he was the beloved son of Lisa Davis and the late Bruce E. Davis. Known throughout the area as the life of the party, Tyler loved being surrounded by people, playing pool, buggy riding, boating, deer hunting, and enjoying the great outdoors. He held active memberships with both the Glouster Moose and the Jacksonville Eagles.
Devoted Father and Loved Member of a Large Family
Tyler’s greatest joy was centered around his children and family. He is survived by his mother, Lisa Davis; his cherished children, Hunter, Gabby, Carson, and Wesley Davis; and Braxton and Aleha Simerly, whom he raised and loved as his own. He also leaves behind his siblings, Brandi and Amber Drake, Jason Davis, and Brandy Davis, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce E. Davis; his brother, Gregory Paul Drake; his maternal grandparents, Claude and June Janes; and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Rosemary Davis.
Visitation, Celebration of Life, and Funeral Expense Contributions
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bishopville Church of Christ. A celebration of life gathering will take place at the Glouster Moose immediately following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made directly to Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio 45732, to assist with final expenses. Messages of comfort and support continue to pour in from across the Athens County community during this difficult time.
