MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Arkansas — The body of Daniel Dees was recovered by law enforcement search units on Thursday morning following a fatal boating accident on the Mississippi River near Sans Souci Landing. Dees had been reported missing on Sunday evening after the vessel he was aboard capsized in the river currents. Members of the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department located and recovered his body approximately five miles south of Sans Souci Landing, where river currents had carried him downstream into an eddy off the main channel.

The capsizing incident also claimed the life of 59-year-old Robert Wayne Harkens of Osceola, Arkansas. A third passenger aboard the vessel, 26-year-old Destiny Woods of Burdette, managed to escape the water and was rescued by personnel from TMS.
