LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — The community of Sherwood and surrounding Pulaski County are grieving the tragic passing of 27-year-old Jamia Trotter, who lost her life following a vehicle collision on Interstate 430 on Friday morning, August 21, 2026. News of her sudden death has left family members, friends, and loved ones facing an overwhelming and painful loss.

Arkansas State Police Investigate Multi-Vehicle Interstate Collision

According to official incident reports from the Arkansas State Police, emergency personnel responded around 2:01 a.m. to a severe collision near the 1-mile marker on northbound Interstate 430 in Little Rock. Investigators reported that Trotter was riding as a passenger in a 2006 Honda Civic that lost control, struck a guardrail, overturned, and was subsequently struck by a northbound 2023 Honda Pilot. Emergency medical responders confirmed that Trotter suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Two drivers involved—a 26-year-old Little Rock man and a 53-year-old Little Rock man—sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) for treatment. Trooper Tre M. Davis of the Arkansas State Police is leading the crash investigation.
