FENTON, Mich.— The Linden and Fenton communities are in mourning following the tragic death of 56-year-old Cynthia Susanne Prince of Linden, Michigan.Prince died Friday night after being struck by a Canadian National freight train near the Poplar Street railroad crossing in Fenton.
According to the Fenton Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:35 p.m. on August 21, 2026, following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a westbound freight train.Upon arrival, officers located Prince and immediately initiated lifesaving measures.Despite the swift response and diligent efforts of first responders, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Coordinated Emergency Response
A multi-agency response team arrived to secure the area and assist the Fenton Police Department. Responding units included the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, the Flint Township Police Department, and the Fenton Fire Department.Despite coordinated efforts, the injuries proved fatal.
