Three teenagers lost their lives in a devastating early-morning crash on Interstate 5 in Anaheim, leaving their families and communities grieving the sudden deaths of Levi Jacob Flores, Robert Miguel Gutierrez-Avalos, and Victor Hugo Delgado.
According to authorities, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. Thursday near the southbound Lincoln Avenue off-ramp of the Santa Ana Freeway, also known as Interstate 5.
The victims were identified as 15-year-old Levi Jacob Flores of Garden Grove, 16-year-old Robert Miguel Gutierrez-Avalos of Santa Ana, and 17-year-old Victor Hugo Delgado of Santa Ana.
Three Teenagers Killed in Anaheim Crash
The California Highway Patrol said the crash involved a Ford Edge traveling southbound on Interstate 5.
Investigators said the SUV veered off the freeway south of Euclid Street for an unknown reason. The vehicle struck a guardrail and then a concrete pillar before traveling down a sloped concrete embankment and overturning in a brush-covered area.
Emergency crews responding to the scene found four occupants inside or around the vehicle.
Two of the teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants were transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries, where one later died. The fourth occupant survived and remained hospitalized, according to reports.

A California Highway Patrol incident log indicated that a witness reported seeing the SUV traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.
The witness reportedly described the vehicle appearing to miss the Lincoln Avenue exit and making a late attempt to take the off-ramp before losing control.
The Ford Edge then left the roadway, struck roadside structures and overturned. Two occupants were reportedly ejected during the violent collision.
Investigators also reported that the occupants apparently were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
