NEW MILFORD, Conn. — The Canterbury School and prep school hockey communities across New England are grieving the tragic passing of Andrey Uryadov, Head Coach of the Canterbury School boys' varsity hockey program.
A Distinguished Hockey Legacy from Russia to NCAA Division I and Prep Coaching
A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Uryadov established an impressive hockey career both as an elite player and a dedicated mentor. He arrived in the United States as a standout player for South Kent School from 2003 to 2005 before enjoying a four-year NCAA Division I collegiate career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) from 2005 to 2009. Following two years playing professionally overseas, Uryadov returned to prep hockey in 2015 as a coach at South Kent School.
